Hummus

Description

Hummus is a delicious appetizer. In Turkey, we eat hummus as a mezze. With a few ingredients, you can also make it home.

Ingredients

  • 200 gr. chickpeas, boiled, drained, place the chickpeas in hot water 
  • 3 tbsp of tahini
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Juice of a half lemon
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of cumin
  • 2 tbsp of water

To garnish

  • 1 tspn of olive oil 
  • 1 tsp of sumac 
  • 1 tspn of chickpeas, boiled 
  • 1/4 handful parsley, finely chopped

Preparation

  1. 1- Puree the boiled chickpeas, tahini, grated garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin and salt with a blender, until smooth, for about 5 minutes. If hummus seems too thick, add in a tablespoon or two water.
  2. 2- Garnish hummus with olive oil, parsley, sumac and a few boiled chickpeas.
